Novelist Laura Lam has already released a couple of books including Pantomime (February 2013) and its sequel Shadowplay (January 2014) but hit headlines later in 2014 when her upcoming novel False Hearts was signed by Tor/Pan Macmillan in a six figure two-book deal, set for release January 2016.

Lam, who's from California and later relocated to Scotland to be with her husband, described herself as 'deliriously happy' about the deal. False Hearts has been described as a thriller along the veins of The Hunger Games, Gone Girl and Blade Runner, and is about twin sisters Tila and Taema, set in Lam's native San Francisco.
